  1. Vince
  2. Beven
  3. Lorena

The Young Generation
  1. Johnnie

Trivia - Some of the differences between the original Australian TV series ("Young Talent Time") and the International series ("The New Generation"):
  • ~The International series aired 30 minutes weekly focusing on the cast members singing performances only to where the Australian series aired an hour weekly mainly due to focusing on amateur kids winning talent contests in between the regular cast members songs.
  • ~World famous host/producer Michael Young hosted "The New Generation" to where the executive producer John Young hosted Australia's "Young Talent Time".
  • ~The International series "The New Generation" aired in several countries around the world including the USA but did not air in Australia.  In the USA, the show aired on "The Family Channel".
  • ~No last names were ever given or mentioned of any of the cast members on "The New Generation" International TV show, just their first names only.  The Australian series "YTT" mentioned the last names of the cast members a lot.
  • ~The International show, "The New Generation" separated the cast members into two groups.  The older teens (ages 14-17) were who the series was named for and opened the show with exciting revved up song performances such as "Danger Zone", etc.  The younger cast members (ages 10-13) were referred to as "The Young Generation" on the show and usually sang their own songs separately as a group, etc.  Then there were songs where the two groups mixed together in some performances which was always fun to see.
  • ~In the Australian version, there were no age separation in the groups.  Everyone sang together as one group despite the age differences.
  • ~On "YTT", once a member reached a certain age of maturing, they were taken out of the group to leave the show (same formula Latin boyband Menudo used as well as "Kids Incorporated", etc).  Some of the more popular members who had already left Australia's "YTT" were asked to return for the International series "TNG" which in fact helped give the show much appeal.
  • ~The International series, "The New Generation" did not take off as well as the hugely popular Australian series, "Young Talent Time" (YTT) mainly due to only 13 episodes being produced.  While "The New Generation" was still being reran Internationally, it's main source, Australia's "Young Talent Time" was shockingly canceled in January 1989 after airing for 18 years, thus forth ending both series.
  • ~In 1990, executive producer, John Young got "The Young Generation" group members back together for a specially made for video only.
  • ~"Young Talent Time" (aka "YTT") ran on Australian TV from 1971 through 1989.  Today, there is talk and plans to bring the show back in a new format featuring all new talented kids.

"The New Generation" Show cast members - Part 1

"The New Generation" International TV Series cast members came right out of Australia's long running TV series "Young Talent Time" (aka "YTT")

The New Generation (ages 14-17)

Members (oldest to youngest):

Vince Del Tito
Born: 10-19-1970
He left Australia's YTT show in 1988 and was asked to return for the International "The New Generation" series the same year.  A segment of "TNG" featured his very first performance ever on Australia's "YTT" at age 12 when he sang, "Simple Simon Says" for which Beven was also dancing in the background.

Beven Addinsall
Born: 12-24-1970
He left Australia's YTT show in 1988 and was asked to return for the International TNG series the same year.

Lorena Novoa
Born: 5-16-1971
She left Australia's YTT show in 1987 and was asked to return for the International TNG series in 1988.

Dannii Minogue
Born: 10-20-1971
She left Australia's YTT show in 1988 and was asked to return for the International TNG series the same year.  With her gorgeous stand out looks, Dannii became the most popular of the females with fans.  Her performance of Michael Jackson's "Dirty Diana" is one of the show's most memorable number.  Out of all "TNG" show's cast members as well as the Australian "YTT" series, Dannii acquired the most fame and became a huge star known all over the world.

Natalie Miller
Born: 1-23-1974
She was known as the youngest of the cast members of "The New Generation"

Keith
Born: ?
Keith was not with the group that long so there is not much information on him to be found.  (Will post more info as info is found.  His name seems to be Keith Williams.)

"The New Generation" Show cast members - Part 2

"The New Generation" International TV Series cast members came right out of Australia's long running TV series "Young Talent Time" (aka "YTT")

The Young Generation (ages 10-13)

Members (oldest to youngest):

Johnnie Nuich
Born: 7-1-1975
He was age 13 on "The New Generation" TV series and the oldest of "The Young Generation" group members.

Juanita Coco
Born: 12-10-1975
She was the oldest girl of "The Young Generation" group members and did a remarkable job in an "Annie Get Your Gun" performance as well as "Born To Rock N Roll".  Sadly, Juanita was killed in a car crash 5 years after "The New Generation" show ended, at the age of 17.  This was a huge shocker for the cast members who had grew up with her on the show.

Jamie Churchill
Born: 5-26-1976
Jamie must have seen something in his co-star Rikki because the two eventually were married and now have a family together.

Joey Dee
Born: 7-7-1976
Even though Joey was the youngest of the boys, he instantly became the most popular member of "The Young Generation" group and was the one all of the girl's screamed for.  His looks strongly resembled older cast member Vince, for which the two occasionally performed together with many fans thinking they were brothers.  Joey is still a widely popular singer today and an accomplished song writer.

Rikki Arnott
Born: 10-19-1976
With her gorgeous long blond hair, she had really hard shoes to fill since she took the place of Dannii on the Australian series, who was one of the most popular members ever.  Rikki went on to marry co-star Jamie Churchill and now have a family together.

Courtney Compagnino
Born: 11-12-1977
She was the youngest cast member of the entire show but by far proved her outstanding talents in many of the show's most memorable performances.  Courtney became the most popular girl of the younger group mainly due to her pizzazz and usage or some very interesting facial expressions.  Her performance of "Superman" flying in the sky with Joey as the boy/man of steel is indeed one of the most memorable of the entire "TNG" show.  After the series, she went on to singing and acting in television.

NOTE: A year after "The New Generation" show ended all six of the cast members of "The Young Generation" (the same 6 members listed above) returned for a made for video feature titled, "Young Talent Time - Now 1990".  Although Joey's mullet was gone, he featured more of a New Kids On The Block hair style.  The video is still highly sought by fans of the show.

  1. The young blond girl Rikki shown in #4 above actually married the boy shown right beside her named Jamie in real life after this series ended and now have a family together.

Lyrics:

Superman - as sung by Courtney Compagnino with Joey Dee
(original artist - Alison MacCallum)

Look! Up in the sky! Is that you Superman?
I'm in trouble.
I've been looking for you everywhere.
Come and save me!

Woo hoo! Woo hoo!

Superman was born and came into my life like a fire.
Shooting through the sky, flying to the moon, even going higher.
I know I'm gonna have to get you trying just as hard as I can to get my Superman.
Woah-oah Superman, yes I am, I'm gonna make you love me.
Superman, if I can, I'm gonna make you love me.

Indestructible, saving all the world from the bad guys.
Looking through the wall, he can see us all with his x-ray eyes.
I know it's just a matter of time, I'm gonna to do the best that I can to get my Superman.

Woah-oah Superman, yes I am, I'm gonna make you love me.
Superman, if I can, I'm gonna make you love me.

I'm gonna be so happy flying high up in the sky.
I'm gonna get my Superman.
Cause everybody knows that he can never die!
Woah-oah-oah!
Superman, yes I am, I'm gonna make you, I'm gonna make you, I'm gonna make you love me.
